On TikTok, views matter more than followers. That is why the calculator shows both: engagement per view and engagement per follower.
Tip: use the average of the last 10 videos and leave out individual viral outliers.
Engagement rate by views = (avg. likes + avg. comments + avg. shares) ÷ avg. views × 100. Because TikTok also shows videos to people who don't follow the account, this value is more meaningful. The calculator also shows the rate relative to followers.
The rating refers to the engagement rate by views. Values between 3 and 6 percent are typical.
| Engagement rate by views | Rating |
|---|---|
| < 3,0 % | Below average |
| 3,0 % – 6,0 % | Average |
| 6,0 % – 9,0 % | Good |
| > 9,0 % | Excellent |
If views stay far below the follower count, the account reaches its community poorly.
Shares show that content gets recommended. That is a strong signal for campaigns.
A single viral video says little. What matters is how stable views are across several videos.
Meaningful comments point to a real, interested audience.
